Host a Halloween Coloring Party for Kids (Easy Plan)
Free printables, a simple running order and a few game ideas for a spooky-but-friendly afternoon.
A coloring table is one of the easiest Halloween activities to set up β calm enough for little ones, fun enough for older kids, and almost free. Here's a simple plan for a party, playdate or classroom afternoon.
What you'll need
- Printed pages: 2β3 per child, plus a few spares. Mix easy and detailed so every age has something.
- Supplies: crayons, washable markers, and orange, black, purple and green colored pencils.
- Extras: stickers, glitter glue, and tape or string to hang finished pages.
- Table covers: paper tablecloth or old newspaper.

Step 1: Choose your pages
Pick friendly, not-too-scary pages: smiling ghosts, pumpkins, cats in witch hats and cute haunted houses. Older kids might enjoy a detailed haunted manor. Find them all in Halloween coloring pages.
Step 2: Print the night before
Print on slightly heavier paper if you can β markers won't bleed through. See how to print coloring pages for quick settings.
Step 3: A simple running order (about 1 hour)
- Welcome (10 min): children pick their first page.
- Coloring time (25 min): music on, snacks nearby.
- Game (15 min): see ideas below.
- Gallery walk (10 min): hang the pages and admire everyone's work.
Game ideas
Spooky color challenge
Call out a rule β "only purple and green!" or "give your pumpkin stripes" β for the next page.
Pass the page
Each child colors for two minutes, then passes their page to the left. Keep going until every page is a group masterpiece.
Haunted gallery awards
Give everyone a silly award: Most Colorful Ghost, Spookiest Sky, Best Use of Glitter.
No printer? No problem
Every Halloween page can be colored online on a tablet or laptop β handy for a quiet corner, or when the printer runs out of ink. And try our puzzles for a change of pace.
